Why are more and more people in mental health crisis being detained by police?

Some thoughts based on release today of national statistics showing another rise in the number of times section 136 of the Mental Health Act is used by police to detain people in mental health crisis.

    This issue is very interesting informative and opens a great dialogue to the problems with dealing with people with mental illnesses in society. You are doing great things for the field of mental health!

    It could be due to rise in awareness of Mental Health and the public contacting the police about instances.
